Answers:

  What is a logo template?

Logo template is pre-made logo design concepts with placeholder text that you can customize and personalize to suit your company's name and slogan.

What are the types of Logos?

  Text Logos:
Words in their purest form ARE images. Type fonts come in all shapes and sizes, which convey different impressions to the audience. A thick font conveys strength and power. A script font conveys elegance and austerity, and a slanted typeface conveys movement. Your company name thus can be your own logo, provided your type font displays the intended qualities of the organization.

Symbol Logos
A symbol uses an image or images that convey an actual or abstract representation of a business. Because a symbol alone is less direct than text, it leaves itself open to a wider interpretation of what the business is about. Using a symbol in your logo has several possibilities.

Text and Symbol Logos
A brief amount of text, or sometimes just an abbreviation, compliments the symbol and provides that extra bit of clarity as to what the business is about. There are many choices to consider when deciding which logo best fits the image of your company. Never limit yourself to one option. It can be very easy to see an image you personally like, and think would look attractive in one format, without giving thought to how it will look everywhere else. In the end, it's not about what you want your logo to look like. What’s more important is how your audience will perceive it.

How is a customized logo different from a logo template?

A customized logo is a unique logo design that is created by our in-house designers from scratch, on the basis of your specifications. It embodies your business image and identity. It provides limitless possibilities in terms of innovation and effective brand communication.

A logo template, by comparison, is a pre-made logo, which is modified slightly to fit your company's needs and requirements. Logo Templates are much affordable than the customized logos, but are limited in terms of choice or innovation

What are the resolutions of the logos you provide?

Resolutions are represented by Dots-Per-Inch. The logo templates will be provided in the basic formats of 72 dpi, 150 dpi & 300 dpi (suitable for print).
  Top

How many revisions will you provide?

The number of revisions for the selected logo template depends on the iterations you require. You can start with the basic 2 revisions provided when filling in the form on selection of the template. The charge is $10 per iteration.

What are the standard final deliverables formats in logo template? Will that include the original PSD/AI?

When you purchase the logo template you can choose from the basic listed formats:

a. TIFF
b. JPG
c. GIF ( sizes in 180x120, GIF 360x240, GIF 120x80, GIF 270x180)
d. BMP
e. PDF
f. WMB
g. EPS*

If you require other formats then the above, they will be considered as extra formats (Extra charge will be added for each).

* EPS will depend on the original source file being a raster image or in vector format

Print formats are EPS* (Encapsulated Post Script) or TIFF (Targeted Image File). Upon purchase of the copyrights, you are then entitled to receive the vector/raster resizable formats for printing: AI (Adobe Illustrator) or CDR (Corel Draw) or PSD (Photoshop).

Web logos are normally delivered in GIF or JPEG format, depending on the design of the logo. Special formats can be created, but we usually recommend sticking with these formats for general use.

Screen logos (other than the web, such as for a presentation) can be created in GIF, JPEG, Windows Bitmap, and many other formats.

All original artwork files will be provided to you and will be your sole copyrights.

* EPS will depend on the original source file being a raster image or in vector format

Are the fonts included in final files?

Yes, we provide any fonts used in a template, but only if you purchase the copyrights of the logo.

What is the difference between a PSD and AI?

PSD is a bitmap-based file format that is generally a layered file, proprietary to Adobe PhotoShop. PSDs are useful in that they enable the designer to change colors to an image and add or remove image layers.

AI is a proprietary file format developed by Adobe Systems for representing single-page vector-based drawings which can be either exported in EPS or PDF formats. The .ai filename extension is used by Adobe Illustrator.

What is the main difference between vector and bitmap products?

Vector files are files you can resize, scale, and even change colors or fonts of, without losing any quality or resolution. Professional designers or print shops mostly use vector files.

Bitmap files files are more static and more popular, and usually the best to use on the Web. You may find them mostly in text applications such as Microsoft Word. They are small, but hard to modify because of their poor resolution. A bitmapped image is built from individual cells called pixels, which are set to a grid like a mosaic. Most digital photographs and screen captures are bitmap images. A bitmapped image cannot be resized without loss of quality. Resizing GIF, TIF, BMP, PCX bitmapped formats will result in image degradation.

What is the difference between a Print Friendly Logo and a Web Friendly Logo?

Print Logos require a much higher resolution (300+ DPI/Dots Per Inch) and need to be saved in certain standard print file formats. Some of the most common and universal print formats for print jobs are: High Resolution TIFF; Photoshop and Illustrator EPS files; Corel Draw; and Adobe Acrobat PDF. Since print logos can become very large in size, they are best sent on a form of removable media, such as a zip drive, or a CD-ROM.

Web Logos require a much smaller resolution since they only need to be displayed on a screen (72 DPI). Theycan be sent directly through e-mail or be made available for immediate download. Since web logos are so low in resolution, they are not a good choice for printing, as the quality will appear blurred or jagged on paper once printed.

In what color configurations will you deliver the final logos?

What's the difference between a ‘Trademark’ and a ‘Service Mark’? What's a Registered Trademark?

A trademark is a business name or symbol, or combination of the two used to distinguish one manufacturer's product from those of other manufacturers. The TM symbol is often used to alert the public that the manufacturer has adopted a specific logo or symbol or term or combination for that purpose.

In the United States, the symbol of ® enclosed by a circle may only be used after a trademark is registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. It is not mandatory for a company to register its trademarks, but many prefer to do this in order to better document ownership of the trademark. (This symbol is also used in other countries. Customers outside the U.S. are urged to check local laws.)

A service mark SM is used exactly as a trademark, but is identifies a unique service rather than a product.

A copyright is a protection granted by the government to authors of intellectual properties that may be written, performed, etc. Your logo may be a trademark, but your brochure would be copyrighted.
